We’ve Upgraded Our Fiber: Why We Switched to FIBLANCE® PHGG

Same trusted formula. Even better digestive support.
At Revive, we’re always looking for ways to refine our formulas to reflect the latest science, ensure the highest quality standards, and deliver the best possible experience for you. That’s why we recently made a strategic ingredient upgrade in our GI+ formula.

We’ve replaced Larch Arabinogalactan with FIBLANCE® Partially Hydrolyzed Guar Gum (PHGG), a clinically backed, gentle prebiotic fiber that’s especially well-suited for supporting gut motility and microbiome balance.

This change has already been implemented in current production, so if you’ve received a new bottle recently, you’re already benefiting from the upgrade.

Why We Made This Change

This wasn’t about fixing a problem, it was about making a good product even better.
While our previous ingredient fully met our quality and safety standards, we encountered increasing challenges in securing a consistent supply that met our stringent quality control.

Rather than compromise, we used this as an opportunity to reevaluate our sourcing and clinical alignment and PHGG emerged as the clear choice for the future.

Meet FIBLANCE® PHGG: A Smarter Fiber

PHGG (Partially Hydrolyzed Guar Gum) is a low-viscosity, fully water-soluble, fermentable dietary fiber derived from guar beans. It’s been extensively studied for its benefits in digestive health, particularly for people with sensitive digestive systems.

Some of the key benefits of PHGG include
  • Supports Regularity and Stool Consistency
  • PHGG has been shown in clinical studies to improve stool frequency and consistency in people with chronic constipation.
  • Gently Nurtures a Healthy Microbiome
  • PHGG is fermented primarily in the colon, where it promotes beneficial bacteria such as Bifidobacteria and Faecalibacterium prausnitzii. This helps produce short-chain fatty acids like butyrate, which support gut barrier integrity and reduce inflammation.
  • Well-Tolerated, Even for Sensitive Guts
  • Unlike some fibers (like inulin or FOS), PHGG has low gas production and is generally well tolerated by individuals with IBS or SIBO.
  • Helps Regulate Motility
  • PHGG can have a bidirectional effect, softening stools in constipation and adding gentle bulk in diarrhea-predominant IBS, thanks to its unique osmotic and fermentative profile.

How PHGG Fits Into Our Formula

While clinical studies often use higher standalone doses of PHGG, our formula includes a modulatory amount (750 mg) designed to work synergistically with other gut-supportive ingredients, such as:
  • Apple Pectin (1 g) – additional soluble fiber
  • N-acetyl-glucosamine (1 g) – supports the gut lining
  • DGL Licorice, Cinnamon, Green Tea, Lecithins – provide soothing and mucosal regenerative properties
Together, these ingredients support motility, microbial diversity, and digestive comfort, while remaining gentle and low-FODMAP, even for sensitive users.

What This Means for You

  • Better therapeutic fit: PHGG is more closely aligned with GI+’s core benefits, supporting healthy motility and microbiome balance.
  • Superior tolerability: Especially beneficial for people with IBS, SIBO, or sensitive digestion.
  • Enhanced consistency & clinical backing: A standardized, reliable ingredient supported by extensive research.
This isn’t just a supply chain switch,  it’s a strategic upgrade that makes the formula more targeted, effective, and adaptable to your gut health needs.
